9:27pm Monday 26th December 2005 in
Fleetwood Town 1. Kendal Town 2.
Kendal moved to within two points of the top of the UniBond League First Division when goals by Ged Smith and Paul Rigby secured a 2-1 Boxing Day derby victory over fifth-placed Fleetwood Town.
The win extended Kendal's unbeaten league run which began in early October and was a true six-pointer as Fleetwood were just one point behind but with two games in hand at the outset.
Town's campaign was further helped by league leaders Bridlington losing 2-1 at home to Rossendale United while second-placed Mossley drew 2-2 with Woodley Sports.
Next Monday Kendal are home to Eastwood Town, kick-off 3pm.
