VISITORS to the Lake District National Park this Easter are being urged to take extra care not to accidentally cause fires which could devastate forests and fells and harm wildlife during the present dry spell.
In the past four months only half of the normal rain has fallen over the national park leaving woods, fields, and fell paths tinder dry and liable to burn quickly if a fire is accidentally started.
