ROYALIST revellers are running out of time to apply for permission to host a street party for the Golden Jubilee.

South Lakeland District Council is processing a block application for street parties planned at venues right across the district.

Applications have to be in by April 29, to allow the authority time to go through the necessary red tape and consult the emergency services.

So far residents from around 14 streets have submitted applications, with interest peaking after the death of the Queen Mother.

Anyone planning a street party who misses the deadline will have to process their own application, which SLDC officers warn could be both costly and complicated.
