This Sunday thousands of runners will be attempting to achieve their personal best while raising thousands for charity in the London Marathon.

Amongst the many colourful characters running in this year's marathon will be Mr Jelly Belly, and for a good cause too: he'll be sponsoring Diabetes UK.

An unlikely alliance you may think, but it actually makes good sense; not only do Jelly Belly beans contain zero fat, but they are also a measurable source of energy - essential for diabetes management and anyone engaged in strenuous exercise like marathon running.

Diabetes UK want Jelly Belly to help them spread the message that it's OK to eat sweets, as long as you do so in moderation and exercise regularly.

Getting up off the couch and getting fit means you can enjoy life to the full and have more fun, and fun is precisely the philosophy behind Jelly Belly beans!

There are 50 fantastic, true-to-life Jelly Belly flavours to choose from, including Juicy Pear, Raspberry, Bubble Gum and Buttered Popcorn.

We're giving you the chance to give those famous flavours a try with one fabulous Jelly Belly dispenser filled with delicious jelly beans to giveaway and gift boxes of Jelly Belly beans for five runners-up.

All you have to do to enter the competition is answer the question, fill in the entry coupon and send it to: Jelly Belly Competition, South Lakes Citizen, 22 Stricklandgate, Kendal LA9 4NE, to arrive by first post next Tuesday.

Or, you can email your answer to ilene.holloway@kendal.newsquest.co.uk to arrive by 9am next Tuesday.
