SUBSTITUTE professional Jonothan Windows did the job for Kendal with bat and ball, making 46 and taking 5-25 as they finished of the season on a winning note.

Windows top-scored with 46 out of Kendal's haul of 160 and there were good knocks from David Barnes (31) and Paul Wilson (29) at the start and end of the innings, with Leyland paceman Brian Tennant enjoying the lion's share of the spoils with 5-61.

Leyland looked to be cruising to victory with 90 on the board without loss

But the suspicion that they did not carry too many guns once the top three batsmen went was confirmed.

The introduction into the attack of Terry Hunte brought the breakthroguh as he removed Ian McDonnell, who had made 30 out of 91 when caught behind by Craig Barrington.

But the key dismissal was that of professional Rimmer, who was held at mid-wicket by Potts for 59 and two runs Hunte also accounted for Swann to turn things round.

It was then Windows returned for a devastating second spell, capturing 5-9in four over at one stage as Leyland fell 12 runs short.
