THREE points taken from mid-table Bamber Bridge keep Kendal Town's dream of the UniBond League First Division championship very much alive, but those points came at a price.
The biggest Tuesday night home crowd of the season saw a first half where Kendal enjoyed the bulk of possession, but neither side created more than half chances.
The visitors came closest to a goal when Greg Bricknell hit the underside of the bar just before the break.
Town's persistence paid off three minutes into the second half when Lee Ashcroft squared the ball to Ged Smith who slipped round the Bamber fullback and dispatched a fine strike just inside the right hand post.
Ten minutes later playmaker Ashcroft fed the ball inside for Paul Osourne who volleyed the ball home.
Town might have gone on to add to the total if Ashcroft had not been sent off two minutes later.
Yellow carded for a foul in the first half Ashcroft clumsily kicked Bamber keeper Michael Bingham in a late attempt to prise away the ball he had just gathered from a Chris Ward back heel.
A second yellow card sent him to the dressing room and 10-man Town were forced to largely shut up shop and keep Bamber at bay for the last half-hour.
