Woodley Sports the biggest threat to Kendal Town's hopes of automatic promotion dropped out of contention when they could only draw 1-1 away to Bamber Bridge tonight (Thursday).

A 90th minute equaliser salvaged a point for Woodley, but leaves them five points adrift of Town with just one match to play.

Fleetwood Town, three points adrift of Kendal, boosted their chances of a last day upset when they beat Kidsgrove Athletic 3-0 away from home, but their goal difference of 20 is four less than Kendal's.

On Saturday Kendal must take at least a point from their home match with Shepshed Dynamo to make certain of retaining the runner-up position and automatic promotion to the UniBond League Premier Division. A one goal defeat would still require Fleetwood to win by three clear goals in their final game to edge out Kendal.

Meanwhile supporters can expect Town to go all out for a win, for if league leaders Mossley, two points ahead, loose to fifth-placed Gresley Rovers the championship trophy with its big money prize could be on its way to Kendal
