A MODEL of the solar system is to be spaced out around Kendal.
Planets will be arranged on paths running alongside the River Kent and people will be able to walk the “Solar System Trail”, taking in sights such as Abbott Hall and Kendal Parish Church.
Members of Kendal’s Eddington Astronomical Society (EAS) will be standing by each planet to give more information and answer questions.
The model proved a success last year when the group produced a scale model leading down from Kendal Castle.
The location has been changed this year in a bid to attract more people.
EAS was named after the famous cosmologist Sir Arthur Eddington, who is famous for his work in proving Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity.
The walk starts at 12pm on Saturday, August 14, and finishes at 4pm.
