ELEVEN charities benefitted from donations totalling more than £70,000 by the Masonic Province of Cumberland and Westmorland as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.
Among those receiving money were South Lakeland Hydrotherapy Trust, which gained £8,500, and Kendal Mountain Rescue Team, which was awarded £2,500.

Over 600 people attended including HM Lord Lieutenant for Cumbria Mr James Cropper, the High Sheriff of Cumbria together with a number of Council Chairmen and Town Mayors. Charitable donations were made to a number of organisations including the Air Ambulance, Kendal Parish Church Junior Choir £1000-00, Ulverston Choral Society £1000-00, Harps North West and others.
