KENDAL entertainer Steven Hall has reached the semi-finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Tonight, viewers saw the 53-year-old progress to the live shows after Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre whittled down hundreds of hopefuls to just 40.
Steven wowed the judges and gained a legion of fans after his quirky dance montage was broadcast to millions on April 16.
After learning of his fate, he told presenters Ant and Dec he would celebrate with a glass of sherry!
Steven - a telecommunications engineer and Burneside Amateur Theatre Society member – now needs the public vote to stay in the competition.
In the live shows, which start tomorrow night (Monday) with the return of Simon Cowell, viewers will choose which of eight acts to perform each night go through to the final the following Saturday.
Steven will appear in Thursday night's show.
The winning acts from each week will then battle for the viewers’ votes to secure the Britain’s Got Talent crown, netting £100,000 and the opportunity to perform in front of the Queen at this year’s Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium.
