A MAGNIFICENT Runcorn church has inpired imaginative people of all ages to paint.
St Michael’s & All Angels in Greenway Road, Runcorn, invited artists to celebrate their skills at an open day.
Parishioner, Joan Clare, aged 61, of Rathlin Close, Widnes, said: “I dabble in painting.
“Churches are usually locked. We thought it would be an idea to invite people to come in and paint, draw, take phographs or sit quietly.
“It was lovely to see such a wide age range. We had 10 adults and three children.”
Robert Littler, aged eight, and his sister, Annie, aged four, did some drawings.
Parishioners Josie Colley, aged 84, and Tony and Jane Catt, who are registered blind, also took part.
Joan now plans to include some of the sketches and paintings in the church calendar.
Artist Barry Tyrer has already donated a sketch he made on the day.
Joan, added: “We’d like to make this open day an annual event.”
Artists wishing to submit work to the calendar can email Joan at firstname.lastname@example.org
