A WOMAN was air-lifted to hospital after being blown over in gale-force winds at a Coniston fell yesterday.
The walker was knocked off her feet by a strong gust of wind and landed on rocks at Cove Bridge on the Walna Scar trail at around 11 am.
Her friend called Coniston Mountain Rescue and 11 team members treated her at the scene for head injuries and concussion and supplied her with oxygen.
She was then air-lifted to Furness General Hospital by the North West Air Ambulance for further treatment.
