THE North West Air Ambulance has launched a ‘Big Discussion’ appeal in a bid to get supporters involved in its future.
The life-saving charity, which flies more than 1,200 rescue missions a year, is asking people what they think about the service it provides and how it can engage better with the community.
Lynda Brislin, chief executive, said: “Changes to how trauma care is being treated in the UK are going to have a real impact on our service and, as we are a charity that relies wholly on public and corporate donations to operate, it is only right that everyone should help to develop where we are going.”
As part of the appeal. the charity will be open a Facebook page to hear people’s thoughts and suggestions and to ask about any changes which could be made to the service.
The team will also chat to local firms, volunteers and community groups to gain a unique insight into what people would like to see.
Mrs Brislin added: “You really never know when you might need the services of the air ambulance and it is crucial that we keep working with our communities to raise awareness of the vital role we play.”
