    Probably not - but the same could not be said of the road signs pointing to Kentmere from Staveley which were faded to the point of being unreadable - which I reported 10 years ago - and have now finall been replaced with shiny new signs.

    It is sad that it takes a royal visit, or an Olympic Torch arriving, to prompt the councils concerned to get on and do the things that they should be doing continuously!"

A591 road restrictions at Plumgarths to be lifted for two weeks

DISTRUPTIVE road works on a main route to the heart of the Lake District are to be suspended over the Easter holiday.

Resurfacing works at A591 Plumgarths Roundabout and Kendal Bypass are said to be on schedule with Phase 5 due to be completed by tomorrow (Sunday) for the Easter Holiday period.

The current route restrictions at Plumgarths Roundabout will be suspended for two weeks from tomorrow evening until the evening of April 15, when the final phaase of the resurfacing works begins.
