Speed dating event is short of men

CUMBRIAN men have been challenged to come to the rescue of single women and take part in a new series of speed dating events.

Leah Davies, 29, has started organising the county’s first ever regular speed dating events through her new company Boo Events to play match-maker for single Cumbrians.

But while plenty of women have signed up, not enough men are plucking up the courage.

Leah said: “There are a lot of women in Cumbria wanting to meet ‘the one,’ so there must be single men out there looking for a relationship as well.

“With regular speed dating events in Cumbria, at least it offers the potential to meet in a nice, relaxed and safe environment.”

Looking at the website the business model is floored as you have to make the slow journey up to Carlisle, so that's thirty quid down the drain before you've started, then it's 10 quid to enter the competition then more cash for drinks ;)

wouldnt it be cheaper to go to one in Manchester or even Preston ?? It's cheap on the train or doesn't take too long to drive to ....
.....alternativly you could go out in Kendal there is a glut of women out on a Saturday night.
