THE Conservatives have lost two seats in Skipton after yesterday’s Craven District Council elections.

Independent John Kerwin-Davy ousted sitting councillor Paul Whitaker in the Skipton North ward, while Liberal Democrat Eric Jaquin was victorious in Skipton East where he defeated Pam Heseltine.

In Hellifield with Long Preston, Independent candidate Chris Moorby was elected in a close contest with Conservative candidate Nick Thwaite.

Elsewhere, there was no change.
