OWNERS of an Eden pub are celebrating after winning a prestigious award.
The Black Swan Hotel, Ravenstonedale, was given the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Westmorland Pub of the Year 2012 Award.
Louise Dinnes, who runs the pub with her husband Alan, said: “We’ve been here six years now and we’ve won the best newcomer award, but never this one. We are all so pleased.”
Pubs are judged not just on the quality and range of their ales and beers, but also on the atmosphere, style, decor and service offered.
Mrs Dinnes added: “We could not have done it without our amazing staff. My parents Judith and Kenneth Doran also help us out a lot, and they are both chuffed we’ve won.”
The Black Swan will now go against three other pubs in the Cumbrian finals.
