Diamond Jubilee: Levens' Big Picnic
A BLAZE of colour and a festival of food filled Levens' play park as residents braved cold temperatures to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Scores of residents gathered at the park to commemorate the milestone in Her Majesty's reign despite the weather taking a turn for the worst.
The sound of music could be heard from a special songs of praise service and by local songstress Fiona Hanlon.
Bouncy castles and face painting were on offer for children to revel in while the adults ate sandwiches and cakes.
Organiser Paul Jones said it would be an event everybody would always remember.
"It's the biggest event I can remember happening in Levens," said Mr Jones. "It's brilliant to have everyone together. It's something everyone can be really proud of."
