Farmers love to talk to their animals

FARMERS in the North play music, sing or chat to their animals to help make them more relaxed, calm and content, a new survey has revealed.

The RSPCA Freedom Food Survey found that 39 per cent of northern farmers play music to their animals, with local radio being most popular (19 per cent) followed by BBC Radio 2 and Rock FM (both 13 per cent). Nearly half of farmers (49 per cent) said they talked to their animals – with the hot topics of conversation including how they or their animals were feeling, telling them how lovely they looked or general idle chit-chat as if speaking to a pet or another person.
