A Kendal youngster is set to fill the stage with fairy dust after winning a big part in a summer pantomime production of Peter Pan.

Elise Graham, 11, a pupil at Dean Gibson Catholic Primary School, Kendal, has been selected to play Tinkerbell at the North Pier Theatre in Blackpool.

Proud Mum Hayley, of Lynngarth Drive, said the family was very excited about her starring role.

“She thought she would only get a small dancing part so it was amazing when they said she was Tinkerbell,” she said. “Elise is a very confident child and loves performing, especially dancing.”

Elise first put on her dancing shoes at the age of three and has never looked back and is now a pupil at Rigney Bank Ballet School in Milnthorpe.

She even went to London for a summer school at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, despite not knowing anyone.

“It is a shared role with another little girl and she will perform for three weeks in the middle of the run,” said Mrs Graham. “She is really excited about her bespoke costume. The character has been brought up to date, so it is Tinkerbell with attitude, including knee-high boots and a baseball cap. She’s also really excited about flying across the stage.”
