Localised flooding warnings for Cumbria over the weekend
3:53pm Friday 22nd June 2012 in News
CUMBRIA Police are advising people to take care over the weekend following heavy rainfall predictions.
Warnings have been given for localized flooding and standing water on roads, so police recommend motorists take extreme care and do not attempt to drive through flood waters.
Members of the public who are visiting the Lake District are advised to only to take to the fells if properly equipped.
The public can check the Traffic Link section of Cumbria Constabulary’s website (www.cumbria.police.uk/traffic ) which is designed to provide information about the current state of Cumbria’s roads and the immediate surrounding areas in relation to road traffic collisions, weather, and delays as a result of incidents and congestion.
The information provided is sourced from police and the Highways Agency and is updated every 10 minutes.
