TRAIN passengers in Cumbria are being urged to avoid travelling this weekend.
A spokesman for Virgin Trains, which operates in the region, advised people to avoid the rail network due to the adverse weather conditions being experienced in the region.
Virgin Trains and First Transpennine Express have cancelled all services between Glasgow Central and Carlisle, and between Edinburgh Waverley and Carlisle.
ScotRail has also called off services between Dumfries and Carlisle.
