THE Great North Swim is underway at Windermere today (Sunday).
Yesterday's event was cancelled but today's schedule is taking place as well as Friday's rearranged two-mile swim, which had to be postponed due to strong winds.
The half-mile swims started at 9am and will be followed by one-mile swims until 2pm when the Elite Men and Elite Women events will take place.
Then at 3pm the rescheduled two-mile swim which was postponed on Friday is set to take place.
The Westmorland Gazette's news and photographic team will be there to report back on the spectacle.
