A youngster from South Lakeland, who has climbed countless mountains to raise funds for good causes, has completed yet another challenge.
James Martin had climbed or walked Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and the West Highland Way by the time he was seven.
He completed the Cumbria Way at the age of eight, walked Coast to Coast, aged nine, and the Dales Way, aged 10. He has even climbed all the 214 Wainwrights.
Now aged 12, he has just completed the Pennine Way – all 266 miles of it – averaging more than 15 miles a day and raising more than £100 for the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association.
James said: “Mountain rescue do a great job – yet all mountain rescue services are provided free and are supported by donations and fundraising.”
Regarding the walks and climbs had done so far, he said: “I may not be the youngest to complete each of these challenges but I am heading towards my goal of becoming a mountain leader.
“I have many memories of my climbs. I still love the Newlands horseshoe, climbing the chinmey up Red Screes, sleeping on top of Cat Bells, climbing Hevellyn for my sixth time and so on – the list is endless.”
