Teenage girl injured while ghyll scrambling near Coniston

A TEENAGE ghyll scrambler had to be rescued from Church Beck near Coniston yesterday (Wednesday) after she slipped and injured her ankle.

Ten members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team attended the incident at around 4pm. They stretchered the girl to the team's headquarters in the village and she was later taken to Furness General Hospital by land ambulance.
