Windermere hosts skimming contest

Organisers of the Lakes-based All-England Stone Skimming Championships are celebrating their most successful year to date.
The event, at Fell Foot Park on Windermere’s southern shore, was won by last year’s champion Ron Long from Marton in Powys with Kendal men James McCann and David Elleray second and third.
Cash raised is used for Trust conservation work.

red eyes as per norm.....no effort made this year to actually attract people here.
I see it day in and day out,get real,business is suffering and not to come up with any kind of summer plan is an embarrassment.
I'm no 'Meldrew' I just want to see the Lakes busy again.
Bring speed boats back, if only for a couple of weeks or so and advertise the fact, then get feed back from the people who matter.
As for being a 'moany old goat'.....I would'nt say that i'm that old!!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to see speedboats and planes, I don't want to.
Why is it embarrassing? There's so much to do out there in our wonderful area.

How many 'Pleasent surroundings' have we got round here.......Ermmmmm loads.
Not every one of them has to be like deaths door.
Wake up, businesses are struggling and things have to change if they are to improve in this climate.
As for your name Rev....If you are....I have to put up with all faiths regardless of my opinion.......I me mine.........there should be something for everyone.
Anyway if your that concerned...it won't matter anyway, when that nuclear waste dump arrives.......Leak like chuff.

My name has nothing to do with it and why you've brought faith into it, God only knows. When that nuclear waste dump arrives and leaks like chuff businesses will be struggling!
