Update: man appears in court accused of murder

A 48-year-old man from Outgate near Ambleside appeared in court today accused of murdering his mother.
Robert Adam Pierre Archbold appeared at Furness Magistrates Court following the death of Jane Marie Theresa Archbold, 77.
He did not speak during the five-minute hearing but nodded to confirm his name. Archbold was dressed in a blue jumper and trousers and had a long grey beard. Magistrates stood down the case until September 3.
Archbold was ordered to remain in custody.
