Speed dating with a twist to help South Lakes charities

SPEED dating is taking a twist to help volunteers find their perfect charity to help. Cumbria CVS is holding the Make A Date To Volunteer event to help would-be volunteers get in touch and find out more about local charities to find their perfect volunteering match.

Volunteers will have six minutes to find out about charities - including the Royal National Institute For The Blind, the British Red Cross, Lake District National Park and many more - before the whistle blows.

It takes place on Thursday, September 20 from 10am until 12noon at the South Lakes Foyer on Stricklandgate in Kendal.

Sounds like a great idea, but a Thursday morning? I work full time, as I'm sure do plenty of other volunteers. Maybe an evening or weekend day would be a better idea...
