Body of missing Eden woman found near Shap

THE body of a missing Eden woman was found near Shap yesterday afternoon.
Police were called out to Orton Scar by members of the public at around 3.30pm, where the body of a woman had been seen in a black Toyota Ago.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers confirmed the deceased to be the missing Margaret Godwin.
Mrs Godwin was last seen at her home address in Kings Meaburn, near Appleby, on Monday, and had not been seen since.
The family have been informed.
