Recycling centre at Kendal's Asda store to be temporarily moved

RECYCLING banks at Kendal's Asda store are moving temporarily to a new location on the site. It will allow work to begin on Tuesday to resurface the recycling area run by South Lakeland District Council.

From this date the recycling banks for glass, cans and textiles will be positioned opposite the Asda fuel station on the car park and should be very visible to users of the recycling site. The work is expected to take approximately six weeks and the banks will then be moved back to the recycling area as before.

Coun Clare Feeney-Johnson, portfolio holder for the Environment, said: “The council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary relocation of the recycling banks at Asda in Kendal. "People will still be able to recycle as before and the recycling area will be much improved once the resurfacing work is complete.”

I was just wondering how they could say it would take six weeks! Probably a few hours to move the recycling bins, a couple of days to do the resurfacing, then wait 5 weeks for the bins to be moved back!
