Update: Train services resume after Askam gas leak shuts line

TRAINS are now running on a south Cumbrian railway after a gas leak halted services.

The incident at Askam suspended all Northern Rail services between Millom and Barrow with trains left at a standstill while emergency services dealt with the leak.

Services resumed when the line opened an hour later but passengers were warned of delays of up to 30 minutes.

Buses are also supplementing some services.
