Share of £500k funding for Kendal health group

A KENDAL-based project which will integrate health and social care with voluntary organisations has received a slice of £500,000.

Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust awarded funding to 16 schemes in the county, including the new South Lakes Gateway.

The group will focus on vulnerable older people and those living with long-term conditions with the aim of combining expertise and resources to support carers.

All 16 projects had to prove their sustainability beyond the funding allocated to receive backing.

The NHS money is set aside to bring communities and GPs together to improve health and well-being in Cumbria.
