Vascular services decision to be made later this month

PLANS to move vascular services from Morecambe Bay Hospitals are set to be decided, this month.

Kendal Town Councillor Matthew Severn said South Lakeland had been ‘completely forgotten about’ in proposals which suggest concentrating services to sites at Preston, Blackburn and Carlisle.

The move will see inpatient vascular surgery stripped from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Cumbria and Lancashire overview and scrutiny committee will meet on September 25, at Preston County Hall, to consider a final decision.

Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron hopes to raise the issue in Parliament with an Early Day Motion, before plans are finalised.

He has urged residents to give their feedback at www.feedbacksurveys.org.uk/vascularservices.

"Tim Farron urged......"

Frankly I am sick of hearing Tim Farron keep playing the "Opposition MP card" - he's in the Government - he's directly responsible for this situation.

Tim Farron voted for £3 billion to be wasted preparing the NHS for privatisation by Andrew Lansley, Tim Farron voted for £20 billion in NHS cuts.

If Tim Farron is so unhappy withe consequences of his actions for the people of South Cumbria and Lancashire them maybe he should consider his position.
