High profile professor to address Cumbria and North Lancashire Fabian Society

ONE of Britain's most highly regarded professors of modern business management will adress the next meeting of the Cumbria and North Lancashire Fabian Society.

Tom Cannon, Professor of Strategic Development at the University of Liverpool, will speak at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, at 6.30pm on Friday September 28.

Mr Cannon is also the CEO of Idepolis International, a high-level advisor for over 30 transnational groups including GE, American Express, HSBC, IBM, Microsoft, and Virgin.

He has been a policy-forming consultant for governments all over the world and was commissioned by Tony Blair to establish a platform of ethical and social responsibility to help take British companies into the future.

He is one of the principal experts on the changing nature of leadership, challenging the traditional role and posing difficult questions about organisational structure and hierarchy.

Mr Cannon is author of over 20 books, including Welcome to the Revolution and the bestselling Guinness Book of Business Records. He has also written for The Guardian, The Times, The Financial Times and The Scotsman.

Following the formal address the meeting will be open for general discussion and debate in the tradition of the society.

As always the society welcomes guests who wish to join in or just listen to sensible radical debate on major social and economic issues affecting the lives of the majority of people in the UK today.
