Victim in M6 fatal collision is named

POLICE have named the man who died in a collision on the M6 near Carnforth on Saturday.

Graham Whitwam, who was 53, of Paddock in Huddersfield, was killed when the car transporter he was driving was involved in an accident with a white Transit-type van on the northbound carriageway.

A 46-year-old man from Warwickshire has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
