Staveley child injured after releasing car handbrake

A CHILD was injured after she released the handbrake on her family’s car in Staveley.

Cumbria Police said the seven-year-old was in the vehicle as it rolled off the driveway and came to stop on grass.

The girl was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary with leg injuries.

Kendal officers attended the incident at 4.25pm on Thursday, September 20.

Police said enquiries suggested the incident was accidental.
