UPDATED: Drivers stuck in traffic as Cumbria's roads are hit by flooding

FLOODING has hit roads across Cumbria and Lancashire this morning as the downpour continues.
Cumbria Police have reported multiple problems on the county’s networks.
The A684 at Hawes is closed due to flooding and Halton Road in Halton has been shut because of water levels.
Traffic is reported to be at a standstill at Prizet, on the A591, where all four lanes are flooded.
Water is pooling at Staveley-in-Cartmel, on the A592 near Newby Bridge. And near Kirkby Lonsdale on the A683
Police say there is also flooding on the A6 at Jock Scar, and an inch of water on the A591 at Meadowcroft.
Preston Patrick, near Crooklands, has also been hit, with flooding to roads. Residents have also reported flooding to homes.
On the motorway, police have attended a road traffic collision on the M6 southbound at Lowgill.
And train users could face delays on Northern Rail.
