A BODY has been sighted by a train passenger, this afternoon, sparking a search operation.
Liverpool Coastguard and local teams have responded to claims of a body floating in the centre of the river Lune.
A woman called police to report the sighting, made while she was crossing the Carlisle Bridge at Lancaster.
Search teams attended the scene at 1.10pm and said the river contained a lot of debris due to the high quantity of rainfall.
No body has been found, although the search has continued as far down as Glasson Point.
