A CAT that became stuck in the engine of a car was this morning rescued by firefighters.
The moggy had crawled underneath the sump guard of a 4x4 vehicle parked on Brewery Street car park, Ulverston.
Watch manager Paul Milburn said the animal looked to be fit and well.
“He looked a bit rugged but fine apart from that,” he said.
“We don’t know whether he had travelled in the compartment, which is possible because where he was he could have survived that.
“Now and again cats do crawl into places like this because of the heat source.”
The lucky kitty was rescued with small hand tools within ten minutes.
