Northern Lights visible over the Lake District
A MYSTERIOUS green glow lit up the Cumbrian skies as a strong solar phenomenon enveloped the earth’s atmosphere this week.
The spectacular Aurora Borealis - or Northern Lights - sent snappers rushing for their cameras late on Monday.

Mother Nature’s free light show is usually seen around the Arctic Circle, but a geomagnetic storm has seen charged solar particles reach as far away as England where they react with the Earth’s atmosphere to produce these impressive displays.
