A FORMER nurse has taken the plunge to become a full-time artist.

Tim Turner, of Ulverston, has launched his firm The Drawing Pin, to provide illustrations and commissions.

The 46-year-old initially trained in graphic design in Manchester but left this profession to work within the caring services.

Twenty years later, he has launched www.thedrawingpin.com and is hosting an exhibition to kick start his art career.

Mr Turner said: “I specialise in illustration and do some architectural drawings, as well as landscapes from unusual angles and perspectives.

“My exhibition will focus on scenes from Ulverston. I have tried to get my own view of them across.

“Each drawing I view as a little jewel. They aren’t supposed to be symbolic but they are quite polished.”

Mr Turner’s exhibition will run from November 17, at Natterjacks Gallery, in Ulverston.
