WOMEN who helped raise an ‘amazing’ £50,000 for a local good cause are being encouraged to lace up their walking boots again.
The fourth St Mary’s Hospice Walk to Remember takes place in Barrow on Friday, May 14, and the Ulverston-based charity hopes as many as 1,000 females will sign up.
Last year 630 ladies took part and raised the impressive figure, which helped the £5,000 a day running costs to provide support and palliative care for people with terminal illnesses in South Lakeland and Furness.
Men are also being invited to help marshall the night-time walk.
