Situated on the corner of Market Place and Stricklandgate (where Thorntons chocolates used to be) the new Peter George Banks Jewellers store, which opened in 2015, is light and airy on two floors. People can pop in for a coffee and try on jewellery and leading brand name watches, without feeling any pressure to buy from the friendly and approachable staff.

“On May 7 at 11am we have invited the Kendal Mayor, Chris Hogg, to come and meet customers and we will be running special offers and prize draws on the day, with no purchase necessary,” said Tracey. “We will be popping Champagne corks all day and offering customers free coffee, tea, beer, cakes and sweets.”

Prizes to be won include watches by Hugo Boss, Bering and Paul Smith. With every purchase on May 7, shoppers will receive a surprise quality piece of jewellery as a free gift. There will be 20 per cent off a lot of brands and it’s expected that a lot of people will be tempted by the three-for-two offer on Camilia and Troll beads.

“We are hoping that other shops in Kendal will join in with our drive to encourage shoppers back into the town following the floods,” Tracey continued. “Kendal continues to win awards and we, as retailers, have a lot to be proud of.”

The family business, Peter George Banks Jewellers, has built a reputation for quality services spanning over 80 years. Peter Banks is fourth generation in the business and he has an exceptional knowledge of watches and diamonds.

Just a few of the leading brand names include Camilia, Thomas Sabo, Swarovski and Coer de Lion; watches by Bering, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, Mondaine, Certina, Oris and Victorinox Swiss Army; and wedding jewellery by Raphael Collection and Charles Green.

A signature gift wrapping service adds the finishing touch to any gift.

Peter George Banks was in Finkle Street in Kendal for six years before relocating to the 2100 square feet premises on the corner of Market Place. The stunning store is the brain child of Lesley Banks.

The new store aspires in the future to being a Brietling, Omega and Rolex stockist as currently these brands are not available in Cumbria. They have also been accredited as Swarovski crystal society stockist.
