A BODY has been found on the West Coast Main Line in South Lakeland.

The driver of the Carlisle to Euston train spotted the body of an adult male on the northbound line, near Milnthorpe, at 7.46am this morning.

The British Transport police are investigating the scene and have closed the line to trains between Carlisle and Lancaster.

A spokesman from Network Rail said: “We are in the hands of the British Transport Police. As soon as they are satisfied that it is not suspicious we will be able to get trains on the move.”
