FAMILIES and food fans can sample some Cumbrian treats at Holker Hall’s Winter Market this weekend (November 8/9).
A variety of Lakeland food, crafts and gifts - including local, organic and fair trade products - will be on offer in the courtyard market place.
There will be live music, outdoor braziers and a barbeque selling Holker reared meats including venison and the famous Holker Hall salt marsh lamb.
This year there will be South African crafts on offer from Fair Trade company, Worx of Africa and traditional Greek produce from Green Choice foods.
There will also be a chance to sample cheese from the estate’s resident cheese maker, Martin Gott and original recipes from Lord and Lady Cavendish’s daughter Emily Harper’s new range.
Families can meet the Alpacas and enjoy a woodland walk in the deer park.
The gardens are open from 11am – 4pm and there will be tours around the hall throughout the day.
