MORE than 50 young anglers took part in a special fishing competition organised by police in Carnforth.
Community officers hailed the annual event, which took place on the Lancaster Canal at Detrongate near Bolton-le-Sands, as a “great success.”
Overall winner was Nathan Stretch, 13, from Lancaster while Emily Stockdale, 11, from Bolton-le-Sands, 11, came second and Liam Ellershaw, 14, from High Bentham came in third place..
First place in the under 12s category went to Henry Tomlinson, 11, from Bolton-le-Sand.
