A TIME capsule containing a mobile phone and a computer disk will be buried as part of Cartmel Priory CE School’s fiftieth anniversary.
As well as containing things that sum up the digital age, the capsule will house an article about the history of the school, a calendar, old and new school ties and items which are due to be phased out in the coming years, such as milk bottles.
The school is half a century old this year, and has planned a host of other events to celebrate the milestone.
The preceding evening (Friday, October 17) there will be a Syd Banks dance between 8-11pm. Tickets £2 available from the school.
There will also be an open day on Sunday, October 19 between 1-3pm with a service in the priory at 3.30pm.
The capsule itself will be buried as part of a school open day that will include displays, tours and competitions on Saturday, October 18 between 11am-2pm.
