Harry Appleyard aims to grow his new Motif Tiles business into a top name brand
A YOUNG entrepreneur has an ambition to transform a small handmade tile business into a top brand.
Motif Tiles owner Harry Appleyard, 22, designs and makes handmade products for the home in a lakeside workshop in Coniston.
The tiles, in non-conventional shapes, are made from British clay and other materials.
Mr Appleyard said: “We enable customers to create a completely unique installation. By using our website they can visualise what their tiles would look like.”
Working with a local blacksmith, Motif also produces a range of tile- topped tables.
Mr Appleyard added: “Motif is set up for direct sales to the general public, with deliveries available nationally.”
