THE owners of an Eden hotel are ploughing £1m into their business to redevelop their leisure suite into a luxury spa.
Mike and Angela Dunbobbin, owners of the 31-bedroomed Appleby Manor, have drained the pool and closed the doors for the last time on the suite in preparation for the redevelopment into a brand new spa.
It will consist of five treatment rooms along with a thermal suite, a hydrotherapy pool and a manicure/pedicure room.
There will also be outside space with a roof garden, two hot tubs and a fire pit.
The work is scheduled to start next month and the spa should be open by the end of October.
Mr Dunbobbin said: “This is a really exciting time for us, although we have continually invested in the hotel over the last 15 years, it’s the biggest single investment we've ever made. We hope it will not just benefit the hotel but that it will also benefit the surrounding area with increased visitor numbers.”
