A SLICE of rock music history has helped to spice up the appeal of Kendal's innovative pop-up shop.

Brian Cannon, the graphic designer behind the look of some of the biggest rock albums of recent times took a two-week stint in the town centre outlet in Finkle Street to show off his iconic work.

Brian, whose company Microdot packaged every release for Oasis and The Verve in the 1990s, displayed a fascinating array of original ‘90s rock memorabilia in the shop – including a Noel Gallagher-signed Oasis gold disc.

Also on sale were photographic prints, t-shirts and rare memorabilia associated with the bands for which Microdot worked.

Brian’s last day in the pop up shop, owned by South Lakeland District Council, was on Sunday.

The outlet will now be occupied until September 12 by Winnie Poaty, who will sell ladies' clothes under the 'I Luv Me Most' brand.

The pop up shop initiative is run by Invest in South Lakeland, the council-led programme which supports new and existing businesses in the region, and aims to enhance the district’s retail offer and reduce the number of empty shops.
